Did You Know …

Did you know that the Children’s Department has many magazines that you are able to check out?  Near the internet computers, you will find a wide variety of children’s magazines ranging from Boy’s Life to Ranger Rick.  You can check these magazines out just like a book!  I took the time to peruse some different ones this week and found so many interesting articles and project ideas.

This month’s Magazine of the Month is Pack-o-Fun!  This periodical is stocked with craft ideas … a different craft on each page!  All the projects have a photo of the finished project, easy step-by-step instructions, and don’t require many materials.  If you stop by the Children’s department you can see the super cute and easy picture frame I made!

Make sure to look for our magazine collection next time you visit and maybe even check out Pack-o-Fun, our Magazine of the Month

Introducing Playaways!

Posted by: bristolkids on: August 26, 2009

Stop by the library to check out your favorite book in a new way!  The children’s department now has Playaway devices available for you to borrow.  We are beginning to build our selection and as of right now we already have over 30 different titles for you to choose from.  All you need to enjoy your Playaway is a pair of headphones.  The headphone jack is universal so any variety/brand will work.  This is a new way for your child to enjoy one of their favorite books!  These devices are small enough to fit in a pocket … about half the size of a deck of cards!  Check one out next time you’re here!
